About us

Every UK motorway services, in one place – sorted before someone in the back seat asks again.

What this is

A live, searchable map of every motorway service area in the UK: which motorway and junction it’s on, who runs it, what’s actually there (fuel, food, EV charging, accessible toilets), and – where we’ve got it – real fuel prices and charging point counts, not estimates.

Where the data comes from

We don’t guess, and we don’t scrape competitors. Every fact on this site traces back to a specific, named source:

  • Locations, operators and facilities – OpenStreetMap, the collaborative open map used by thousands of apps and services worldwide.
  • EV charging – Open Charge Map, a live, community-maintained registry of charging points across the UK.
  • Fuel prices – the UK government’s official Fuel Finder scheme, which fuel retailers are legally required to report prices into.

Why the badges matter

You’ll notice a small coloured badge on every listing – green, amber, or red – showing when it was last actually checked by a person, not just pulled from a data feed. Automated data is good at scale but bad at nuance: a site might have closed, changed operator, or added charging points since the data was last refreshed. Rather than hide that uncertainty, we show it. A red badge doesn’t mean the information is wrong – it means nobody’s personally verified it recently, and you should treat specific details (especially opening hours, if we ever add them) with that in mind.

What’s still missing

Honestly, quite a bit. Opening hours, parking charges, and site history aren’t sourced yet – they’re the next layer we’re building. Some sites on A-roads (rather than proper motorways) aren’t matched to their exact road yet either. We’d rather ship what’s genuinely accurate today than wait for perfection, and tell you plainly what’s not there yet.

Got a correction?

If something on the site is wrong – a closed EV charger, an out-of-date price, a site that’s actually shut – tell us and we’ll fix it. Corrections made by an actual person are exactly what turns a red badge into a green one.
